Abstract(in English) | Image contrast and noise are one of important indices for evaluating image quality of low contrast CT images such as abdominal CT images. However, some studies reported that the indices did not correlate with visual evaluation. In this study, we have devised new methods for evaluating image contrast and noise on CT images using moving average filters, which were named “apparent contrast” and “apparent noise” evaluation methods. We also assessed “apparent contrast” and “apparent noise” on CT images of a low contrast phantom obtained using different CT scan parameters and image reconstruction methods in order to verify the evaluation methods. The results showed that these indices correlated well with visual impression for the CT images. |
