A Study of Intersection Schemes in the Three-Modal Traffic Society with P/SV/V

Abstract(in English) This paper evaluates intersection schemes in a lane separated Pedestrian / Slow Vehicle / Vehicle three-modal traffic society. At first, we consider roundabouts as an intersection scheme and review three comparisons criteria on both roundabouts and signalized intersections in the three-modal traffic society with P/SV/V. After we evaluate roundabouts and signalized intersections in the three-modal traffic society with P/SV/V with these criteria. The results show that roundabouts perform well at off-hour and signalized intersections at rush-hour. Furthermore, roundabouts especially perform well to SV at off-hour. In addition, the results show that roundabout’s properties are clarified on modal shift from vehicles to micro electric vehicles.
