The study of the Fractal Dimension and Autocorrelation of Environmental Sound Wave

Abstract(in English) Our study is developing new method for evaluating environmental sound. It uses the self similarity of sound wave and is evaluated by Fractal dimension. We show that our listening is able to recognize the self similarity and it is effected by regionality of sound environment for example around airport or beautiful nature. And it is important for our comfortable life to protect the sound environment. The relationship between good environmental sound and Fractal dimensions are not clearly. In this paper, we evaluate the sound around the Shinkansen railroad as the one of sound environment often added large noise. We report that the variation of the Fractal dimension by train passing.
