Abstract(in English) Synchronous optical code-division multiplexing (CDM) incorporated with an adequate interference canceller is suitable to realize a reliable multi-channel visible-light communication (VLC) system. In this paper, we propose a new dimming control scheme for multi-channel VLC. The scheme uses both of a modified prime sequence code (MPSC) and an inverted MPSC as signature codes. The average brightness is determined by the ratio of chips on which the inverted MPSC codewords are assigned in a frame consisting of single or multiple CDM slots. We investigate the design of decoders and the flickering time period of the proposed scheme. Furthermore, we discuss the method to reduce the effect of flickering by locating the chips for inverted MPSC at even intervals.
