Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Tree and wave theories have been employed for language classification. More studies based on tree theory were performed than wave theory. In the tree theory-based studies, vocabulary differences such as phonetic symbols of synonymous words were used for classification. In contrast, the wave theory is hard to identify the change of language with only vocabulary. In this research, we focus on the grammatical differences of languages, trying to express the language characteristics by the production rules in the surface layering process of Fillmore's case grammar. In addition, application of unification grammar for addressing the concordance problem in grammar descriptions is reported.
