Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Hearing is an important sense for understanding the surrounding environment because it can obtain information from the back which cannot be perceived visually. In this study, we aim to classify and visualize the type of sound with a sound source identification system using a Self-Organizing Map. In this paper, we proposed a hierarchical system that allows temporal resolution to be varied for each hierarchy, in order to enable classification of sounds modulating with the passage of time. By using the proposed method, we can cope with the sounds by capturing the global features of the sound in the upper layer and the local features in the lower layer.
