Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For improving the spectrum efficiency (SE), one of efficient methods is allocating multiple bands for simultaneous wireless transmission with cognitive radio technique. To realize such purpose, the important and difficult is to analyze and predict the start and end points of busy/idle duration of channel occupancy status in a low-complexity way. This paper will study the probability distribution of succeeding busy/idle status durations and its impact on the prediction performance of a low-complexity auto-regressive (AR) based predictor using the real environment data collected at a railway station. We first analyze the probability distribution of succeeding busy/idle status durations captured at 2.4~GHz and 5~GHz bands obtained by the adaptive kernel density estimation (AKDE). The analysis shows that, by setting the previous status durations into different ranges, the final status durations can be divided into different categorization with different range. Based on these properties, we evaluate the prediction performance of the low-complexity linear AR based predictor with B/I duration categorization by separating busy/idle duration data into different streams. The proposed predictor can largely improve the prediction performance of some streams after data categorization.
