Various synchronization phenomena in digital spiking neural networks

Abstract(in English) This paper studies dynamics of a network of digital spiking neurons. Repeating integrate-and-fire behavior between a periodic base signal and a constant threshold, the neuron can output various periodic spike-trains. Applying spike-based cross-coupling with delay to the digital spiking neurons, the network is constructed. Depending on parameters, the network can exhibit various multi-phase synchronization phenomena. Performing precise numerical analysis, typical synchronization phenomena are classified and are analyzed. Implementing a simple test circuit in Verilog, typical phenomena are confirmed. The results give basic information to analysis and application of the digital spiking neural networks.
