Abstract(in English) | This paper reports a study on application of network tomography to Information-Centric Networking (ICN). When we receive some content in a conventional IP network, the communication is performed after the content name is converted into the IP address, which is the locator to identify the position of the network. In contrast, in the ICN, the communication is performed by directly specifying the content name or content ID. Thus, we consider that it becomes difficult to apply conventional network tomography that uses quality of service (QoS) measurements between source and destination node pairs as input into the ICN. We therefore describe the problems when we apply the network tomography to the ICN, and then discuss a method of the application and its applicability through simple models or numerical examples. |
