| Abstract(in English) | The potential benefits of mobile infrastructure sharing include cost reduction, improved coverage, lowering barriers to entry into the mobile market, and spectrum efficiency. However, as some types of sharing models might cause negative consequences for competition, sharing agreements should be carefully assessed by the regulatory and/or competition authorities. The evolution of mobile network to 5G would increase interests in infrastructure sharing among mobile operators worldwide including Japan, where there has been limited adoption of sharing models. |
