Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The optical navigation camera digital electronics of HAYABUSA2 asteroid probe was developed to fulfill the reliability and safety requirement under the requirement of light-weighted, low power consumption, and small size due to resource restrictions. Its image processing portion integrates a radiation hardened micro-controller unit and field programmable gate arrays by using a language processing system based on a distributed object model. The real-time performance of optical navigation exploiting image recognition functions of the unit has been demonstrated through the interplanetary cruising phase and the closest approach phase to an asteroid RYUGU. We report the evaluation result of reliability and safety with real-time performance of the unit’s architecture.
