Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) AeroMACS (Aeronautical Mobile Airport Communications System) is a wireless communication standard which provides high-speed access on an airport surface. AeroMACS can facilitate information sharing among stakeholders, thereby contributing safety and efficiency. Although many field trials have successfully verified the effectiveness of AeroMACS, the authors observed a case where ground reflection fading degrades the received signal strength. Therefore, the authors have proposed a fading mitigation method that employs vertically alligned base-station antennas. The measurement on a runway, where ground reflection fading is significant, has verified the mechanism and effectiveness of the proposed method. In this technical report, additional measurement in a perimeter road is reported. Because of buildings and terrain, the propagation channel in a perimeter road does not always follow the two-ray model, which the proposed method assumes, yet the proposed method effectively worked. Also, it was verified that the proposed method is effective with not only MISO(Multi-Input Single-Output) but also MIMO(Multi-Input Multi-Output).
