Abstract(in English) | This report proposed a method for detecting lymph vessels, named contrast enhanced active Doppler ultrasonography(CEADUS), where the translation of ultrasound contrast agents(UCAs) due to the acoustic radiation force was quantified by Doppler method. Previous study showed that the trend in experimental data for the translation is explainable from the theory on bubble dynamics. In the CEADUS, the received echo contains clutter echoes due to surrounding biological tissues in addition to contrast echoes, resulting in possible negative effect e.g. misestimation of velocity. Therefore, we examined experiments using a tissue-mimicking phantom containing acoustic scatterer in which a cylindrical chamber with a 0.91 mm diameter was formed. The chamber was filled with a suspension of Sonazoid as UCAs. To control the ratio of phantom region and the region where UCAs existed in the spatial resolution, the transducer with a point spread function of 200 μm was scanned from the center at the step of 20 μm in the lateral direction, and the ultrasound with the center frequency of 14.4 MHz and pulse length of 0.47 mm was emitted at each scan line. The translational velocity of contrast agents decreased when the distant between the center of chamber and the sound axis of ultrasound beam is more than 0.38 mm. This value was smaller than the real radius of the chamber. In the depth direction, the same trend was confirmed. As a conclusion, the effect of clutter signal results in the underestimation of the translational velocity of UCAs. |
