On high-speed imaging using optical phased array and multimode fiber

Abstract(in English) Multimode fiber is grabbing much attention as a promising candidate for in vivo imaging such as fluorescence imaging due to its minimally invasive nature. However, present multimode fiber imaging suffers from the slow frame rate due to the limit of spatial light modulators. Here we numerically investigate a high-speed multimode fiber imaging system using semiconductor optical phased array and multimode fiber. From detailed analyses, we numerically demonstrate that clear images can be obtained even with a modest-scale optical phased array with much less number of waveguides, compared with the total number of modes inside the multimode fiber under appropriate conditions.
