Abstract(in English) | Parallel plate slot array antennas are known for their high-gain and high-efficiency characteristics. A radiating slot pair is a radiating element suitable for traveling-wave excitation antennas, because reflections from each slot are locally cancelled in the pair. The dimensions of the slot pairs need to be optimized considering their reflection cancelling and coupling. In addition, slot pairs with various couplings are required to achieve a desired aperture distribution on an antenna aperture. Therefore, an optimization of a slot array is relatively complicated. The approximation that regards an electric field distribution on a slot aperture as a half cycle of a sinusoidal function is widely used to reduce computation time. However, this approximation degrades the accuracy of analysis. This paper presents a design of a slot array by a method of moments analysis considering a higher order distribution of an electric field on slot apertures. |
