Reduction of core deformation by Multicore Fiber with over-cladding bundled rods technique

Abstract(in English) One of the multicore fiber (MCF) fabrication methods is Over-cladding Bundled Rods method (OBR method). However the method has a problem that MCF’s core deformations are larger than other methods. We have investigated reduction of the core deformations with silica core rods and hexagonal rods. As a result, we reduced the core deformations to about 2%.
