A localization method of robots for cooperative conveyance by wireless-networked control

Abstract(in English) We have developed a prototype of a conveyance robot system in which two robots convey a wagon cooperatively. The robots are controlled on a Wi-Fi network on the basis of the location of the robot that is measured by a stereo camera installed on the ceiling. Measuring the location from outside of the robots instead by robot itself enables us to handle robot locations on a fixed coordinate. In the present paper, we especially report the method to localize the robots precisely by using stereo camera. We also show the measurement uncertainty is obtained at most 30mm in our lab with approximately 3.2-meter high ceiling.
