Abstract(in English) | In this report, we handle a remote control system with haptics, and we investigate the effect of the adaptive viscoelasticity control, which we previously proposed, for work of writing characters when the network delay largely changes during the work by Quality of Experience (QoE) assessment. The adaptive viscoelasticity control dynamically selects the optimum elasticity and viscosity coefficients according to the stroke speed and network delay. In the system, a user can operate a haptic interface device at a remote location while watching video by using another haptic interface device. In the QoE assessment, we make a comparison among the adaptive viscoelasticity control, the adaptive elasticity control, and the case without adaptive control. As a result, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the adaptive viscoelasticity control. |
