Abstract(in English) The purpose of this study is to develop a new trajectory tracking control method for distributed parameter mechanical systems via a blending method of discrete mechanics and nonlinear optimization. It is shown that a trajectory tracking problem for the discrete mechanics model is formulated as a finite dimensional nonlinear optimization problem, and optimal control inputs are obtained by solving the problem. As a result, some numerical simulations illustrate that desired periodic waves can be generated for the discrete string model by the proposed new method.
