A Study on Theoretical Design of Switchable Filter using Microwave Switching Elements

Abstract(in English) Recently, in order to realize next-generation communication system(5G) and IoT(Internet of things), new RF/microwave devices with the characteristics of large-capacity, high-speed and compact-size are required in transmission/reception parts of wireless systems. Among them, wide band and multifunctional filters have been raising a lot of attention. In this paper, we designed a wideband tunable filter using microwave switching elements. It can be switched between the band-pass filter(BPF) and the all-stop filter(ASF). Firstly, based on the transmission line theory, we derive equivalent circuits and their ABCD matrices of the switch-on and switch-off states. Next, the synthesis equations system of the wideband-pass filter are derived based on Chebyshev characteristics. Finally, the simulation results agree well with theoretical ones, which validates the effectiveness of the proposed filter structure and the design theory.
