Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Peak current mode control is a widely used control method for DC-DC converter because it has higher stability and responsibility than the conventional voltage mode control. However, in the peak current mode control, the delay time is generated from the PWM comparator which controls the duty ratio to the turn-off of the switch in the actual operation. If the CLK frequency is increased ignoring this delay time, it may become the frequency dividing operation. In this operation, the DC-DC converter’s switching frequency is lower than the CLK frequency and high frequency switching operation may not be possible. In this paper, we clarified the mechanism of this frequency dividing operation and derived the relationship between the turn-off delay time and the limit operating frequency of the DC-DC converter. Also, we derived the relationship when we applied the slope compensation as well. As experimental results, it was confirmed that the limit operating frequency is lower as the duty ratio is lower and the slope is larger with the turn-off delay time. |
