NerveNet is a prospective future regional network platform to provide information and services to local residents and to the people visiting an area, where managed mesh network serves as backbone network, sensor networks (SNs) works as nerve cells to provide live information and databases are utilized for information dissemination. For effective usage of SN in NerveNet, we investigate a promising and novel scenario, where the SNs owned by one SN owner (SNO) will be shared by many SN users (SNUs), who may or may not belong to this SNO. For the future society, sharing sensors is definitely a necessity, but under this scenario, sensors and SNUs are vulnerable under various identity-oriented attacks, such as sybil attack, fake ID attack, impersonation attack. Traditionally, these problems are solved using mutual authentication. However, sensor sharing scenario needs ownership authentication for sensors and privilege authentication for SNUs. To realize this goal, we propose Secure Sensor Sharing Framework (3SF) under shopping center sale model, where the ownership of sensors are authenticated using group key management technique and the authentication of the identity and privilege of SNUs are performed with the assistance from NerveNet provider (NerveNetP) and assertion certificates.
