Power source is a remaining challenge to the ring devices that are supposed to be miniaturized and lightweight. State-of-the-art ring devices are either powered via a tether or a battery, resulting in inconvenience and/or short operating time. Battery-less is one of the ideal designs for realizing truly wearable small devices. In this study, we present a wireless power transfer for achieving a truly wearable ring device that is thin, lightweight, and can work in arbitrarily long time. Initial experiment with a LED ring is demonstrated, future study for a functional wirelessly powered ring device is discussed. |
