In Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) clouds, physical resources, such as, CPU, memory and disk, are packaged into distinct types of virtual machines (VMs). Leading IaaS cloud companies generally own several data centers (DCs) which are geographically distributed in different regions. Cloud resources are usually priced differently in these DCs. In this paper, by taking users’ heterogeneity into consideration, we present a joint study of pricing and load balancing in geographically distributed cloud DCs owned by a cloud service provider provisioning IaaS cloud services.
