Recently, Industry 4.0 has been attracting a lot of attention in the manufacturing industry. Wireless communication technologies will play an important role in the realization of Industry 4.0 because it needs enormous connection to the Internet. Accordingly, IEEE 802.11ah, a wireless networking protocol which allows an Access Point (AP) to connect to more STAtions (STAs) than a traditional protocol, is being researched. Additionally, a power saving technology is required to improve the STAs battery life. However, this power saving technology, which turns off the communication modules of APs and STAs, may cause communication delay and consume additional energy. In this paper, we will propose a power saving scheme for AP and STA, and show the result that the energy consumption decreased. |
