A study about the position estimate by the image matching

(in English) When the visually handicapped goes out alone, there is the case that they lose them way and they don’t understand where themselves. In this case, the system that can perform remote assistance to visually handicapped from the distant place is necessary for the supporter. Therefore, we suggest the system that estimate the position and walking direction of visually handicapped form the photograph which the visually handicapped taken using the image matching that used SIFT algorithm. In this report, we evaluated the precision of the image matching using photograph which taken in a city area of TOYAMA, and examined the possibility of realization of the system.
