Design of Substrate Integrated Waveguide Type Butler Matrix at 12.5GHz

(in English) In this paper, we study -3dB and 0dB couplers of the H-plane waveguide circuits in order to apply these couplers to Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) circuits. Then, we design a butler matrix at a design frequency of 12.5GHz by using these SIW circuit components. For the designed butler matrix, the power split characteristics are approximately equal, and 45-degree output phase differences are realized by an electromagnetic simulation. The reflection characteristics of input ports are also below -15dB. Finally, the fabrication and experiment of the proposed circuit are carried out to verify the design method and circuit construction.
