Indoor Propagation Channel Model with Ray Tracing for Wireless Communications

In this paper, indoor propagation channel is modeled for wireless communications. The propagation channel of laboratory room at 2.4 GHz is characterized based on the ray tracing approach. The two types of rays are considered which are: 1) direct ray and 2) reflection rays. Database is built by using 3D SketchUp program to record geometrical characteristics and environment materials that allow flexibility and robustness to model news scenarios. After that, the database is imported to RapLab program which used ray tracing approach to the propagation channel in term of root mean square (rms) delay spread and the power delay profile (PDP). |
