Frame Importance Detection by Link Relationship among Frame on Comics

(in English) This paper proposes a method to estimate the importance of frames in comics using the link relationship among the frames. In the proposed method, the idea of Page Rank which is well known method in Web science, is applied. The proposed method constructs the link relationship among the frames on comics with the meta features. The initial importance for each frame is calculated by using the number of the links. And, the importance would be updated by propagating the importance from the linked frames based on the sequential information, which is the progress of the story. We conducted the experiments to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method with Manga 109 dataset. It was confirmed that the proposed method is effective to estimate the important frames subjectively evaluated by the participants in the average precision.
