To realize ``Flexible Wireless System'' which integrates various wireless systems on a unified hardware platform, we examine a multi-band power amplifier (PA) to minimize the equipment.
The PA amplifies multi-band signals from different systems simultaneously. It requires a corresponding multi-band predistorter (PD) to compensate for it's nonlinear characteristics. This paper proposes a modling method for the multi-band PA using Volterra series analysis and general Wiener model, and a design method for the multi-band PD employing Newton's method. Numerical results show the effectiveness of the PA model and the proposed PD which can compensate for multi-band distortion.
