A Study on Wider Bandwidth of J-Shaped Folded Monopole Antenna

(in English) J-shaped folded monopole antenna (JFMA) has been already proposed as an effective antenna for mobile phones. JFMA is focused attention on its usefulness of miniaturization. In this paper, we investigate a new shape of JFMA, and apply it to 700 MHz band (699-960 MHz) of LTE (Long Term Evolution). The recently proposed model can get a 19.7% bandwidth (778-960 MHz) for VSWR≤3, with a small antenna volume of 10 × 50 × 5 mm3. In this paper, we investigate how to make the resonant frequency lower and the bandwidth (VSWR≤3) wider.
