In this paper, basic design of direct RF undersampling receiver for high Super High Frequency (SHF) applications is presented. In the case of high SHF frequency range (over 6GHz), the interference from other wireless systems can be greatly reduced. We proposed to use an existing RF Bnad Pass Filter (BPF) in actual transceivers as an anti-aliasing filter of RF undersampling. The sampling clock (CLK) frequency should be set to more than twice of system bandwidth (which is same as pass band of RF BPF.) We also proposed image rejection type undersampling reception to halve the CLK frequency. The developments of RFIC’s for this purpose are also presented. |
