The Solution for Avoidance of The Critical Cases in P2P Multi-Player Virtual Ball Game
Yoshihiro Kawano, Tatsuhiro Yonekura (Ibaraki Univ.)
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We have already proposed a priority field called Allocated Topographical Zone (AtoZ) for P2P typed DVE (Distributed Virtual Environment). In order to avoid absolutely critical cases (inconsistent phenomena), we propose a new protocol called Count Down for P2P multi-player virtual ball game. Concretely, each peer calculates minimum reachable frames to the object each other to realize zero critical cases. By using this protocol, a robust and effective scheme to solve our issue is achieved for a virtual ball game. As an example of the application, a real-time networked doubles air-hockey is implemented for evaluation of validity of Count Down Protocol.
