Microstrip antenna for watermelon sensor

This paper proposes a study microstrip antenna that a part of watermelon sensor. The object of research is a non-destructive method for watermelon classification that based on the feature of reflection coefficient. In this work, the operating frequency of antenna is designed as the maturity stage and sweetness classification. Consequently, microstrip antenna is designed and fabricated at 2 GHz for reflected signal measurement from watermelon fruit. The experiment of free space measurement shows obvious difference of reflection coefficient from watermelon size which the big fruit possess higher reflection coefficient than small fruit. The proposed antenna is feasibility to detect a watermelon classification system. |
