A PDR system with chest mounted IMU -- Challenge to tracking competition at IPIN2018 --

(in English) This paper presents a PDR system with a chest mounted IMU. This system is based on a standard PDR framework comprising step detection, step length estimation and orientation estimation by using both accelerations and angular velocities acquired from IMU. One step is detected by finding the pick of acceleration norm in acceleration sequence because the peek normally happens when a foot is attached on the ground. A step length is estimated by using regression from the double integration of accelerations to a step length. IMU orientation is estimated by using a Madgwick filter. In IPIN2018, we used both a barometer and floor map to achieve accurate localization in multi floors
