| (in English) | This work reports on the effectiveness of a structured convolutional dictionary learning that introduces manifold optimization for image restoration. In general, images acquired by sensors are degraded by a variety of factors. Therefore, there is a growing demand for image restoration techniques for images observed under poor environmental conditions. Sparse modeling is one of the image restoration methods. Dictionaries composed of atomic images play an important role in representing image features in sparse modeling. Muramatsu {it et al.} proposed non-separable oversampled lapped transform (NSOLT) as a structured convolutional dictionary. While NSOLT has shown effectiveness in image restoration, there remain issues in its learning speed and structural refinement. In this study, we introduce a manifold optimization method for dictionary learning to accelerate the learning and to improve the restoration performance of NSOLT dictionary by relaxing the local structure constraints while maintaining the tight constraint. |
