Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Bismuth sodium potassium titanate (Bi0.5(Na,K)0.5TiO3:BNKT) is one of the promising lead-free piezoelectric materials as an alternative to PZT. In this study, we attempted to fabricate high-density Bi0.5(Na0.8K0.2)0.5TiO3 (BNKT80) ceramics using mixed powders consisting of Bi0.5(Na0.8+0.01xK0.2-0.01x)0.5TiO3 (BNKT80+x) and Bi0.5(Na0.8-0.01xK0.2+0.01x)0.5TiO3 (BNKT80-x) (x=3~10). As a result, BNKT80±x ceramics made from the mixed powders exhibited higher density than BNKT80 made from single-phase powder under the same conditions. BNKT±5 ceramics showed grain growth compared to the other powder combinations and a higher piezoelectric constant d33=157pC/N than BNKT80.
