It has been reported that 2-dimensional spatial sound can be captured by the simple stereo recording by using a pair of cardioid microphones. In such a system, inter-channel level difference and inter-channel phase difference are used to acquire 2-dimensional spatial property of sounds. Measurements in a free sound field confirmed that the inter-channel level difference and the inter-channel phase difference of the proposed system approximated the theoretical values. However, due to its structure, the system may be potentially affected by reverberation. It is important, therefore, to check the system’s characteristics in a reverberant environment. In this study, the spatial property of the proposed system was evaluated in a reverberant environment. Reverberation affected only in the lower frequency band even in environment with moderate reverberation. |
