Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This paper is a continuation of the contents presented at previous EE meetings (held on November 18, 2021, January 28, 2022, and March 10, 2022). In the with-corona era, DX has rapidly progressed worldwide. As a result, a serious shortage of semiconductors occurred in the electronics industry, exposing the fact that Japan's semiconductor self-sufficiency rate had fallen drastically. In the previous EE meeting in March 2022, we graphed the financial condition of Japanese electronics companies from the beginning of the 21st century to recent years in chronological order. The results revealed that their finances during this period had already deteriorated and were continuing slump. In this report, we expanded the scope of our survey to 1989 and beyond. The results show that financial deterioration began in the 1990s after the bursting of the bubble economy, and that although the IT bubble occurred around 1999-2000, the financial position of Japanese firms did not improve, and they continued into the 21st century slump. This trend was already evident in the Bank of Japan's 2005 Flow of Funds statistics.
