In Hokkaido, there was a case of Intravenous fluid to administer for trauma patients at outdoor emergency sites, we experienced that the infusion solution freezes in the infusion circuit in a low temperature environment.Previous studies have clarified the degree of temperature decrease of the infusion solution in a low temperature environment. At the end of the infusion circuit, the temperature of the infusion had decreased to near the outdoor temperature.Hypothermia below 34 C is said to be one of the causes of poor prognosis for trauma patients, so in this study, we are investigating measures to prevent temperature decrease to keep the temperature of the infusion solution at the end of the circuit above 34 C. First, I tried to keep the infusion circuit warm, but it was not effective enough. Next, we tried heating the infusion circuit. In this report, the length of heating was examined in order to clarify the conditions necessary for heating the infusion circuit. The heating temperature was 50 C, and the length of heating was 100 cm at the end of the circuit, 50 cm at half, and 90 cm from 100 cm at the end of the circuit minus 10 cm at the end. As a result, it was temporarily heated to about 34 C by heating 100 cm at the end of the circuit. Since the heating length of 50 cm at the end of the circuit and 90 cm was too short, the effect of heating was not sufficiently obtained. It was shown that in the heating of the infusion circuit, it is necessary to heat 100 cm at the end of the circuit as the length. |
