Preliminary Evaluation of FPGA-to-FPGA Communication Speed in FPGA Cluster ESSPER

(in English) This study evaluates the communication speed between FPGAs assuming the FPGA cluster ESSPER is a scalable and
flexible FPGA cluster system for high-performance computation. The reason for evaluating the communication speed is to confirm
whether the communication speed between FPGAs is sufficient to develop a CNN accelerator that accelerates CNN inference
processing using FPGA clusters, and whether it can become a bottleneck. Implementation results show that when VGG16 is split
between two FPGAs, the overhead of data transfer increases the computation time by 0.15%.
