Clinical practice in the outpatient consultation room is restricted due to the COVID-19 control measures, resulting in the loss of educational opportunities such as jury visits and observation have been becoming an urgent issue. There is a demand for real-time access to medical examinations while avoiding the seclusion of the exam room. However, online distribution has privacy issues, and security requires that the information not be broadcast over a global network. The purpose of this paper is to propose a secure streaming system for clinical practice for medical education (called SSS4ME). As an approach, we develop a web application that masks the patient's face in the examination room in real-time and distributes it to the campus classroom. Our key idea is to integrate WebRTC technology with image processing technology. Specifically, we first install a general-purpose PC and a USB fixed-point camera at a clinical site, and a web browser projects real-time images. Next, two image processes, ``eye-line mosaic '' and ``face mosaic'' are performed on the detected human face area based on the output of the bone sensing PoseNet Model driven by tensorflow.js. The processed images are automatically rendered on a browser canvas and then applied to PeerJS technology as a real-time video stream for unidirectional distribution to educational sites. In addition, we design a two-way texting chat function utilizing WebSocket technology. Also, we set up a Node.js server to manage the status of each delivery. This research makes secure streaming possible using only a general-purpose PC, a webcam, and a browser. In this way, supporting medical education is promising. |
