Study of non-contact, non-destructive test using nonlinear airborne ultrasound -- Visualization of leaky waves from thin plate --

(in English) As one of an efficient testing method for large metal structures is a combination of scanning airborne ultrasound source technique and nonlinear harmonic method. This method enables fast and accurate testing by a high-speed scanning wave source. On the other hand, when a scanning speed of a wave source is fast, a residual vibration of the Lamb wave propagating in the object affects a inspection result, thus reducing the visualization accuracy. As one of a possible method to solve this problem is to use microphone array. We have considered that this enable instantaneous acquisition of vibration information within the measurement area and realize the high-speed non-destructive testing method.
In this report, for the purpose of realizing high-speed, non-contact and non-destructive testing using MEMS microphone array, we investigated on experimental and numerical analysis of leaky waves from the thin plate, including harmonic components.
