A Study on Prediction of K-Factor on Sky Cell for 3D Spatial Cell Construction in Mobile Communication
Teruya Fujii, Ryunosuke Masaoka (Titech) AP2022-11
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The flight control of drones and the transfer of captured video data by using the mobile communication network will be expected. The authors are proposing a "three-dimensional spatial cell configuration" in which ground cells and sky cells share the same frequency at each base station by utilizing 5G beamforming technology. In order to evaluate the proposed method accurately, a radio wave propagation model that can be used in the sky cell is necessary. Since drones flying over the sky are generally outlook, propagation is based on Nakagami-Rice model, and it is necessary to model the K-factor. In this paper, we study a measurement method that estimates the K factor of Nakagami-Rice fluctuation with high accuracy from the received power value measured by a drone flying over the sky, and clarify the estimation accuracy.
