[Invited Talk] Transmission and Neural Network-based Demodulation of 4096-ary Eigenvalue-modulated Signal

(in English) Optical eigenvalue communication system has attracted attention in recent years because it has the potential to overcome the capacity limit due to Kerr nonlinearity in optical fiber. We proposed a multi-level eigenvalue modulation method using the on–off states of the multi-eigenvalue and demonstrated a successful transmission of a 16-ary eigenvalue-modulated signal. In this manuscript, we report a design and transmission experiment of a 4096-ary eigenvalue-modulated signal using on–off states of 12 eigenvalues. In addition, we demonstrate the applicability of an eigenvalue-domain neural network receiver to demodulation of the 4096-ary eigenvalue-modulated signal.
