Polar organic molecules are often oriented spontaneously by vacuum deposition under dark conditions, resulting in giant surface potential (GSP). Our group has investigated this phenomenon using the Kelvin probe (KP) method, photoelectron spectroscopy, and displacement current measurement, and has attempted to elucidate the principle and control the spontaneous orientation. In this paper, we will introduce the development of a "Rotary KP" that can simultaneously perform sample deposition and surface potential measurement, and report on the real-time measurement of GSP using rotary KP. |
