Phase-shift full bridge converter is widely used for automotive dc-dc converter design due to its wide input voltage range requirement. However, the converter system has disadvantage that voltage surge is induced on secondary rectifier. Surge energy is normally converted to heat with snubber circuit and is dissipated to air, but amount of surge energy increases with system frequency, it is significant problem at high frequency dc-dc converter design. In this research, the surge reduction technique with a resonant capacitor and the soft-switching assist circuit is proposed. The validity of the proposed method is analytically investigated with PSPICE circuit simulation. |
