Millimeter-wave (mmWave) communication, which has been commercialized in the 5th generation mobile communication system (5G), has a wider bandwidth than the conventional frequency bands, which enables higher capacity, while diffraction loss and propagation loss are large. AF (Amplify-and-Forward) relay station has been studied as a solution to this problem, because it has only function of amplifying the signal at the relay node, which enables low latency, low cost, small size, and coverage expansion by deploying a lot of AF relay stations. In this paper, we propose a relay station deployment method to improve the communication quality of users by appropriate placement of a certain number of relay stations in an arbitrary environment. Based on numerical analyses, it is confirmed that stable mmWave communication can be established even in an environment without of the base station coverage and blocking. |
