Application of polarization-independent subtractive interference cancellation algorithm for same-band and bidirectional coherent communication
Mizuki Inagaki, Takahiro Kodama (Kagawa Univ.) PN2021-84
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) When a single core and the same band bidirectional transmission is performed in a passive optical network (PON) for mobile front hall application, the problem is the interference between the primary and reflection signals generated at the optical coupler and the optical circulator connection end face in the optical line termination (OLT) and the optical node unit (ONU). In this study, we proposed a subtraction interference cancellation (SIC) algorithm that used the symbol information of the reflected signal recorded in advance in a coherent PON system and verified whether independent operation between polarizations is possible.
