[Invited Lecture] Ultra-Wideband Tapered Slot Array Antenna with Conductor Plates at Both Ends of Aperture

(in English) Tapered slot antenna (TSA) is widely used for wideband phased array in various communication systems and multi-function radar systems because TSA has wideband characteristics. On the other hand, in order to obtain low-reflection characteristics in the desired frequency band, the aperture size of the array antenna must be on the order of the free-space wavelength of the lower frequency limit. In this paper, we propose a structure to improve the low-frequency reflection in the case of a small antenna aperture. The feasibility of the proposed antenna is shown through numerical simulation and experiments.
